Music therapy can help improve various mental and physical symptoms including reducing pain, anxiety, and tension. It can be beneficial to those who have mental disorders, severe or light emotional abuse, bipolar, and other serious ailments. It can increase social skills and can help those who have become withdrawn. Music can be enjoyed by all, be it just listening to beautiful music, a singalong session or in some instances by “having a blow” themselves.
Working in conjunction with local groups our sessions usually last between 30 minutes to an hour and are designed jointly between your leaders and ourselves. At all times the sessions will be under the control of the staff. All of our musicians have taken an introductory course in mental health awareness. As part of the planning process a risk assessment will be carried out to safeguard all involved with the outreach project.
